The Grizzled Mighty

For The Grizzled Mighty we spent 3 days in the studio (LBS) tracking and then brought it back to my place (Chartreuse Muffin Studio) to mix. I'm very excited for this thing to come out... Drums were fun. The kick was getting a little overwhelmed by the cymbal bashing, so I used a packing blanket over it. I'm really happy how these behemoth drums turned out on tape. First time I used the telefunkens... cool present but not harsh sound on the brass. I had to spot mic the trash crash after the first song... feeling as though we were losing it a bit too much on the outer edges.

Whitney Petty in the drivers seat. I don't know anyone who hits as hard. She uses souvenir baseball bats. There were some issues keeping headphones on... hence the bandanna.
