The Jesus Rehab - Drunken Hillbilly Fight Bar
THE RECORD:
TJR-Mixing
I mixed over 4 days at my new home studio (Chartreuse Muffin Studio).
Dom listening.
Jared telling me what to do.
I get a thumbs up???
We're DONE!!!!
TJR-LBS
Over the course of 2 days (in mid November), we tracked everything for the 6 song EP which would eventually become "Drunken Hillbilly Fight Bar". It was super fun, and TJR is a killer band. I harken it to arena rock w/ just 2 people (brothers at that).
Got those baffles for the darker sound.
Dom is tuckered.
Playin' together (day1?)
Doin' some gang vox.
Makin' records takes it out of you.
Neat shot of the NEVE.
Tracking together (Day2?)
Group shot.
TJR-prepro
In August, TJR and I started preproduction on their 6 song EP. I went over to their practice space and tracked their library (11 songs), and we discussed and narrowed it down to 2.

Christian Smith - Solo Project
Also working w/ Christian Smith on some pop tunes. We started the process of putting them together when we had a little down time during the trio/jazz sesh in February.
Christian w/ his Martin.
Christian Smith Trio - LBS
In mid-Feb, stepped into the Bridge w/ my good friend Christian Smith (we play together in the band Tolex Soul). He was working on some straight ahead jazz tracks in a trio format. Bass in the VOX booth, drums in the big room, and guitar in the guitar room.
Bass in the VOX booth.
Paul Miranda on Drums (also from City Faire)
Feelin' good.
Neat shot of the room from the Drummers perspective.
Newport High School Big Band
In early January, Justin Davis and I trekked over to Newport High School to record in their auditorium via London Bridge Mobile recording. This was for their audition tape for the Essentially Ellington contest held every year. I took the tracks back to the bridge and mixed.
HATHWH=The Last Temptations-Album
Hannah and the Halfway House changed their name shortly after I left the group to The Last Temptations. The album we worked on together is up on bandcamp under this name (with some sweet artwork to boot!): http://thelasttemptations.bandcamp.com/album/penny-dreadfuls. Rob mixed most of the songs and finished a few overdubs (organ, bass) at his place. I mixed the last track "Predatory Glances". Enjoy!
Hannah and the Halfway House - LBS#2
So we had a second LBS sesh, tracked drums for two songs. I should note that for all the songs, we did bass/drums at LBS, with some keeper guitars. All the VOX, and overdubs were done at my new home studio (Chartreuse Muffin Studio).

Hannah and the Halfway House - Sunset
We played the Sunset sometime in November (shortly after our first LBS sesh).
Hannah.
Alex.
Me.
Rob "Doesn't Look Too Bad when He doesn't know ur taking his photo" Kemp
Hannah and the Halfway House - LBS#1
Well, you know if I'm in a band, we're gonna make a record. LBS Day #1 was a blast, and its always an entertaining thing being on the other side of the glass. I got some killer drum tones, and then settled in and played bass all day.
Bass town.
Alex and Hannah.
Christian helping out pushing record all day.
Hannah taking a break.
Rob "Fuck you for taking my picture" Kemp. Listening back maybe.
Alex on the set. Baffled the brick wall to get some darker kit tones.
Hannah and the Halfway House - Bass
This past fall, I played bass in a rock band. It was super fun, and would love to play bass in a band in the future. The characters involved:
Rob "Don't U Ever Take My Picture" Kemp - Guitar/Songwriter
Alex Noble - Drums
Hannah Amdahl - Vocal/Lyrics
My Bass (Fender P-MIM)
